CA Diary is a records management app used by a Chartered Accountant to manage client details, entries, invoices, reminders, and related business records. Most data is stored locally on your device.

We do not sell your personal information. We only request permissions that are required for features you use (e.g., picking contacts, initiating a phone call, creating/printing/sharing files, and scheduling reminders).

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the app, the app may process the following information:

  • Client records: names, phone numbers, email addresses, addresses, notes, and related business info you enter.
  • Entries & invoices: dates, amounts, status, and notes you create inside the app.
  • Device storage files: PDFs/Excel/CSV exports you generate and choose to save or share.
  • App diagnostics (limited): basic error logs on the device to help troubleshooting (if enabled by your device/app environment).

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • create and manage your client records, entries, invoices, and reminders
  • let you contact clients (call or email) from within the app
  • export and share reports (PDF/Excel/CSV) when you choose
  • schedule and display reminders/notifications you configure
  • improve app stability and fix bugs

Permissions We Request (Android)

CA Diary may request the following permissions. We only use them for the stated purposes:

INTERNET

Used to access network-based features when enabled (for example, optional authentication services, opening links, or communicating with plugins that require network access). The core record keeping can still work locally.

READ_CONTACTS

Used to let you pick a client/contact from your address book and save it into your records faster. We do not read or upload your entire contacts list automatically.

CALL_PHONE

Used when you tap a call action in the app to contact a client. The app initiates the call intent as requested by you. (Your carrier may handle call routing as usual.)

WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

Used to save exports (PDF/Excel/CSV) to your device storage when you choose to export, print, or share files. If you do not export files, this permission is not used for anything else.

RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED

Used to restore scheduled reminders/background tasks after the device restarts (so notifications and scheduled work continue to run reliably).

QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES

Used for package visibility checks required by some Android versions when the app tries to open other apps via intents (for example, WhatsApp, phone dialer, or email apps). We do not use this permission to build a profile of installed apps, and we do not sell/share your installed app list.

Sharing & Third‑Party Services

We may rely on the following categories of third‑party services/libraries:

  • Firebase Authentication (optional): if you enable phone number OTP login in your build, Firebase may process your phone number to deliver/verify OTP.
  • Platform apps you choose: when you share a file, send an email, or open WhatsApp, the receiving app/provider handles that action under their own policies.

Apart from the above, we do not share your data with advertisers. If you add additional integrations in future versions (analytics, crash reporting, ads), this policy should be updated accordingly.

Data Storage, Retention & Deletion

  • Local storage: records are primarily stored on your device (offline storage/database).
  • Retention: your data remains until you delete it inside the app or uninstall the app.
  • Exports: exported files (PDF/Excel/CSV) remain wherever you save/share them; you control those files.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards for local storage and app operation. However, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. Please protect your device with a PIN/password and keep backups as needed.

Children’s Privacy

CA Diary is intended for professional/business record management and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the latest version. You should review this page periodically for changes.
